Zusammenfassung

HyperStrong in Frankfurt is seeking an experienced on-site Commissioning Engineer for utility-scale BESS projects. You will oversee battery systems, PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, HVAC, and safety-critical systems during commissioning and integration.

Travel across Europe will be frequent; you will perform tests, review drawings, document results, and handover to operations, while ensuring safety and compliance with HSE.

Aufgaben

• Perform on-site commissioning of utility-scale BESS projects, including battery containers, PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, HVAC, fire protection, and auxiliaries.
• Execute pre-commissioning checks, parameter configuration, functional testing, and post-energization verification.
• Work with project managers, EPC contractors, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues and ensure delivery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, communication failures, control logic errors, alarms and performance problems.
• Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, topology and test procedures.
• Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, logs, and handover documentation.
• Verify site readiness including wiring, grounding, safety conditions and equipment status.
• Provide basic operation and maintenance training.
• Comply with local HSE regulations and company safety procedures.

• Perform on-site commissioning of utility-scale BESS projects, including battery containers, PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, HVAC, fire protection, auxiliary systems, and communication systems.
• Execute pre-commissioning checks, equipment inspection, parameter configuration, functional testing, system integration testing, performance testing, grid connection testing, and post-energization verification.
• Work closely with project managers, site managers, solution engineers, suppliers, EPC contractors, customers, and grid-related stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot site issues, including electrical faults, communication failures, control logic errors, alarm issues, equipment abnormality, and system performance problems.
• Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, communication topology, control logic, test procedures, and commissioning documentation.
• Support FAT, SAT, PAC, FAC, customer acceptance tests, and project handover activities.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, issue logs, corrective action reports, and other project delivery documentation.
• Verify site readiness before commissioning, including installation quality, wiring, communication, grounding, safety conditions, and equipment status.
• Provide basic operation and maintenance training to customers, site teams, and O&M personnel.
• Comply with local HSE regulations, electrical safety requirements, and company safety procedures during all site activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Power Electronics, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Experience in commissioning, testing, or technical support for BESS, solar PV, wind power, power systems, substations, PCS, inverters, EMS, BMS, SCADA, or other electrical equipment.
• Good understanding of utility-scale BESS architecture, including battery systems, PCS, EMS, BMS, HVAC, fire protection, SCADA, communication networks, and auxiliary systems.
• Ability to independently perform site inspection, parameter setting, communication testing, system integration, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong ability to read and understand electrical single-line diagrams, secondary wiring diagrams, layout drawings, communication topology, and control logic.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN, DNP3, or OPC UA is preferred.
• Experience in European project sites, grid connection testing, or large-scale power project delivery is preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Europe and work on project sites for extended periods when required.
• Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on capability, safety awareness, and ability to work under pressure in complex site environments.
• Fluent English as a working language; German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, or other European languages are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on commissioning experience in utility-scale BESS projects.
• Knowledge of European grid connection procedures and site acceptance requirements.
• Experience with PCS, EMS, BMS, SCADA, or substation automation systems.
• Electrical license, high-voltage operation certificate, HSE certificate, or other relevant local qualification.
• Experience working with Chinese renewable energy or energy storage companies in international projects.
