Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking a commercially minded professional to join a renewable energy developer in Germany. Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in commercial analysis, M&A, project finance, project development, PPA origination or energy consulting.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling capability, including valuations, sensitivity analysis and commercial business cases.
• Experience supporting transactions, due diligence processes and commercial negotiations.
• Solid understanding of the German electricity market and PPA structures.
• Exposure to solar PV, BESS, project acquisitions or electricity off taker arrangements would be advantageous.
• Commercially sharp, analytical and comfortable translating complex financial and market information into investment recommendations.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and confident taking ownership of analytical and commercial workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Support buy‑side and sell‑side M&A transactions, from project evaluation and due diligence through to signing and closing.
• Build financial models covering project valuations, pricing, revenue forecasts, sensitivities and commercial risk.
• Evaluate solar PV and BESS acquisition opportunities, assessing project economics, grid connections, permitting and investment potential.
• Support the structuring and negotiation of corporate PPAs, direct‑wire agreements and electricity offtake arrangements.
• Prepare investment proposals, transaction documentation and commercial analysis to support senior management decisions.
• Coordinate data rooms, due diligence processes and external advisers across project acquisitions and divestments.
• Analyse electricity market developments, BESS revenue opportunities and pricing structures to strengthen commercial decision‑making.
• Develop more efficient commercial processes, financial models and transaction workflows through automation and AI‑supported tools.
• Take increasing ownership of transaction workstreams, commercial analysis and origination activities.

The Opportunity

A renewable‑energy developer is expanding its Commercial team to strengthen M&A, project acquisitions and electricity marketing across its solar PV and BESS portfolio.

This is a high‑exposure role combining financial modelling, buy‑side and sell‑side M&A, PPA structuring and commercial strategy. You will work closely with senior decision‑makers, assessing investment opportunities, supporting transactions and building the commercial analysis behind project acquisitions and sales.
