Job Description
The Commercial Contract Manager has a major role in the realization of the largest and most important projects of the Energy Transition in Europe. The contribution is important, visible, and will make a difference. The Commercial Contract Manager is an integral part of the project leadership team, overseeing, analyzing, and clarifying the commercial contractual rights and obligations of all stakeholders. This role significantly contributes to the execution and completion of large turnkey projects on time and within quality standards, and to achieving commercial targets.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage all contractual issues related to large and medium-sized projects.
- Work closely with the project director and support the team regarding commercial aspects of sourcing/procurement and management of subcontractor and supplier contracts.
- Set up and draft subcontracts, pass through main terms and conditions from the main contract, and lead negotiations aligned with management and project directors.
- Analyze and clarify the commercial contractual rights and obligations with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support the definition of interfaces between project stakeholders and involved companies and experts.
- Draft contract amendments and lead negotiations based on strategic alignment.
- Drive change order and claim processes, including insurance cases.
- Support invoicing processes.
Main Duties
- Collaborate with Legal, Sourcing, Procurement, and Quality teams regarding contract management and process development.
- Ensure processes are followed regarding pass-through terms for subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Support project start-up activities, including contract analysis and Project Contract Commercial Plans.
- Take responsibility for all contractual activities from sales handover until obligations are settled, including financial reconciliation.
- Identify and develop Project Contract Commercial Plans and Claim Strategies.
- Liaise with the Project Director on commercial strategy and schedule adherence.
- Support risk and opportunity management through appropriate planning.
- Ensure proper notices and manage claims with customers, consortium partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Establish and implement contractual procedures, especially regarding claims, insurance, variation orders, and notifications.
- Guide the Project Management team on contractual issues and clarify legal queries with Legal support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or similar with at least 2 years of project management experience.
- Experience in drafting contractual letters.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
- Willing to travel approximately 10%, mainly in Germany and NL.
- Based in the GE Berlin office; hybrid work model possible.

- Experience in turnkey project administration.
