Job summary

Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) is seeking a skilled CNC programmer to contribute to the production of high-precision aerospace components. You will create and optimize programs for milling, turning and drilling on tight-tolerance parts using Hypermill CAM and interpreting CAD data.

You will select tooling and machining strategies, plan manufacturing orders, and support process improvements in a collaborative international team. German or English communication is welcome.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on CNC programming for milling, turning, or multi-axis machining centers.
• Strong experience creating CAM programs using Hypermill.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience programming and optimizing complex, tight-tolerance components.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and drilling operations on high-precision components.
• Develop CAM programs using Hypermill based on technical drawings, CAD models, and manufacturing requirements.
• Select appropriate tooling, machining strategies, and cutting parameters to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Support the development of manufacturing processes for new parts, prototypes, and process improvements.
• Plan and prepare manufacturing orders while coordinating with engineering and production teams.
• Validate machining programs, perform process analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and the reliable operation of manufacturing equipment.

Your Tasks

Your Qualifications

Must-Have

• Several years of hands-on experience in CNC programming for milling, turning, or multi-axis machining centers
• Strong experience creating CAM programs using Hypermill
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and manufacturing specifications
• Experience programming and optimizing complex, tight-tolerance components
• Solid understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, and manufacturing best practices
• Strong quality mindset and attention to detail
• Professional English communication skills, both written and spoken

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in the aerospace industry or other high-precision manufacturing environments
• Experience supporting prototype manufacturing activities
• Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with CAD systems and engineering collaboration workflows
• Experience in production planning or manufacturing preparation
