Job Description

Cloud Security Architect

Location: North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Architect to join their team at the group level. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud architectures that span the entire organisation. You’ll ensure the protection of cloud infrastructure, applications, and data across all business units, while aligning with global security standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement enterprise-wide cloud security strategies for multi-cloud and hybrid environments
• Define and maintain security architecture frameworks, policies, and standards
• Partner with DevOps, IT, and engineering teams to embed security into cloud- applications
• Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and perform security audits across cloud systems
• Deploy and manage cloud security technologies (e.g., CASB, CSPM, CWPP) to strengthen security posture
• Lead incident response efforts and oversee remediation of cloud-related security issues
• Promote continuous security improvement through automation and innovative approaches
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to internal teams and stakeholders
• Stay informed on emerging threats, tools, and best practices in cloud security
• Deliver regular updates and reports to senior leadership on risk, compliance, and security metrics

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
• 7+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cloud security architecture
• Practical experience with leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CSA)
• Expertise in network security, and access management, and data protection strategies
• Relevant certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, AWS Security, or Azure Security Engineer are
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
• Fluent in both German and English, with excellent communication and presentation skills
