Job summary

Orbital Critical Systems (CAF Group) in Germany is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer specializing in AI and Simulation to join on-site teams. You will drive Kubernetes operations, scale clusters and build robust DevOps pipelines in a defense/aerospace context.

Responsibilities include implementing CI/CD, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible and Helm, plus monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana. The role offers relocation support, German language training and a permanent German contract.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in Kubernetes, CI/CD and cloud-native technologies.
• English level B2/C1 – mandatory.
• German level B1/B2 – mandatory.
• Applicants must hold citizenship of a European country.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and scale Kubernetes clusters in complex environments.
• Design and optimize CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using modern DevOps practices.
• Automate infrastructure deployment with Terraform, Ansible and Helm.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana and related tools.
• Drive DevSecOps initiatives, including security, compliance and Zero Trust architectures.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for reliable software delivery.
• Work with Docker, Linux containers and cloud-native technologies.
• Support AI and simulation platforms through Kubernetes and MLOps practices.
• Contribute to microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Collaborate with international teams and support customer deployments when required.
