EPAM Systems is seeking a Cloud Platform Architect to design and implement cloud platforms, lead digital transformation, and advise clients on cloud strategy. You will combine strong technical acumen with stakeholder management to deliver cloud-native solutions across complex environments.

The role involves collaborating with business teams to identify requirements, create business cases, and guide multi-project cloud initiatives with an emphasis on governance, security, and cost control.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of deep expertise in modern on-prem and cloud architectures.
• Experience in large-scale software development with multiple languages such as Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Python or Ruby.
• Strong English and German communication; ability to present technical ideas in business terms.
• Relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.

• Conduct cloud solution reviews and produce audit reports.

• Support pre-sales activities including RFP responses and client communications.
• Contribute thought leadership for public, private and hybrid cloud projects.
• Advise on cloud system design, governance, security, operations and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the business in identifying systems requirements and key case studies and scenarios for future architecture
• Enable cloud journey, analyze TCO and create a business case, make the Cloud dream become reality. Oversee the development efforts and provide technical help as needed
• Design and prototype cloud platforms, create a systems architecture document covering deep technical aspects of the implementation
• Create a unified strategy for cloud transformation governance, automation, security, implementation and operations
• Analyze existing application portfolios, develop next-gen application architecture, transformation and modernization roadmap
• Conduct cloud solutions/systems architecture review/audit and create review/audit report
• Lead implementation of the system from establishing project requirements and goals to platform "go-live"
• Participate in the full cycle of pre-sale activities, including RFP processing, proposal development and direct communications with potential clients
• Create thought leadership on guiding and leading public, private and hybrid projects
• Serve as a cloud evangelist, consult and provide technical guidance on cloud systems design, build, governance, security, operations and cost control best practices

Requirements

• Avid technologist, with min 5 years of deep expertise in modern on-prem and cloud architecture and a history of successful implementation of complex platform projects with cloud technologies
• Large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in some of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Node.js, .NET, Python, PHP or Ruby
• Experience architecting highly available, scalable and mission-critical systems, leveraging load balancing, horizontal scalability and performance optimization to deliver robust and reliable architectures
• Good exposure to Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration (CI) and automated deployment
• Experience and knowledge of building multi-client capability cloud environments. Building and maintaining secure air gapped environments would be a big plus
• Fundamental understanding of network architecture is required
• Identify upcoming requirements and do preparation for scaling out teams for higher workloads
• Ability to suggest competitive and innovative technical decisions, get client buy-in and deliver commitments
• Strong communication skills in English and German, ability to present technical ideas in a business-friendly language
• Relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable
