Job Description

The Sales Associate is responsible for performing general sales duties in their assigned department and assisting in other store areas as needed. They should display a helpful, friendly attitude to make Theisen’s the best in our industry. Responsibilities include greeting customers, helping them find merchandise, explaining product benefits, maintaining store upkeep, and assisting at cash registers.

Qualifications

• Approach customers and assist in locating merchandise
• Explain product benefits and suggest add-ons
• Maintain knowledge of products and expertise in specific areas
• Compute price quotes, handle merchandise orders, and follow up on special orders
• Answer phone inquiries
• Practice security measures
• Assist with checkout and carryouts
• Maintain shelf tags and merchandise displays
• Receive and check shipments
• Price and tag merchandise
• Restock shelves and assemble products
• Process interstore transfers
• Perform cleaning duties to meet brand standards
• Other tasks as assigned by management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic math skills
• High integrity and business ethics
• Ability to answer phones and learn cash register functions
• Familiarity with forklift and pallet jack operations is preferred

Possess a positive attitude, good listening skills, and an outgoing personality.

Physical Demands

Includes lifting up to 25 lbs., walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light grasping. Occasional lifting over 50 lbs., climbing stairs, squatting, and firm grasping. Must work shifts including nights and weekends and maintain attendance standards. Vision and manual dexterity are required.

Work Environment and Conditions

Primarily inside store; some outside work in varying weather conditions. Fast-paced environment with deadlines and sales expectations. Possible exposure to hazards, dust, fumes, odors, and poor ventilation. Protective devices may be required.

Hours of Operation

Corporate Office: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri.

Distribution Center: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (1st shift) and 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (2nd shift).

Store Locations: Vary by location, generally 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Mon-Sat, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sun.
