GERMANY BASED - Cleaning Assistant

Salary: £25,167.48 per annum

Location: Paderborn, Germany

Hours: Full Time - 39 hours

NAAFI are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Assistant in Germany. This is an exciting opportunity for you to come to live and work in Paderborn, Germany alongside our UK Armed Forces.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual who can build and sustain relationships with our customer. You will be self-reliant and able to use your own drive and initiative to resolve problems.

You will be passionate about cleanliness and as such you will be responsible for taking care of our facilities, carrying out various cleaning and maintenance duties. Your main goal will be to keep our building/s in a clean and orderly condition and assist your NAAFI colleagues to continuously deliver and maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service through all aspects of our business.

Responsibilities of the role of Cleaning Assistant with NAAFI:

• The proactive maintenance of cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety of our premises and ensuring the requirements of all cleaning rotas and schedules are completed
• Dealing with NAAFI customers and any member of the military or public encountered during the completion of your duties in a proactive, courteous, friendly and helpful manner
• Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene, including personal hygiene, appearance and conduct
• Following all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments and safety data sheets
• Ensuring all standards of Health & Safety, and Food Safety legislation are achieved during the course of carrying out cleaning duties
• Safely performing various cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, making beds, cleaning pots, pans, dishes and catering equipment as well as restroom cleaning across all of NAAFI ‘s operations
• Notifying your line manager immediately in case there is a need for repair and taking the appropriate H&S measures if any
• Cooperating with line managers and staff in all locations
• Checking and arranging replenishment of the necessary cleaning materials and ensuring all legislation and requirements of the manufacturer’s instructions are met including use of the correct PPE and appropriate storage
• Undertaking any reasonable request within the scope and grade of the role and to carry out other duties as reasonably requested by NAAFI for the needs of the business to enable delivery of service

Requirements for the role of Cleaning Assistant with NAAFI:

• Demonstratable cleaning or housekeeping experience
• Ability to work on under your own initiative and as part of a team
• Ability to communicate with people effectively or customer service experience
• DBS certificate (essential)
• Driving Licence (desirable but not essential)

Accommodation: Initially, a single room in a shared accommodation block on camp, with shared shower facilities. From September onwards, this will change to a house share with one other person.
