As the Claims Manager Germany & Austria (m/w/d), you will be responsible for leading the claims organization with approximately 80 employees across all lines of insurance in Germany and Austria. As a member of the Senior Management Team in Germany, you will report to the Continental European Claims Director and the Country Manager for Germany & Austria.
Your responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the claims department and the granted claims competencies per line of insurance.
- Responsible for ensuring efficient claims processing.
- Responsible for the service quality of all claims handling in accordance with service standards and processes, continuous improvement, and optimization.
- Ensure a service standard that guarantees customers of Chubb a speedy claims settlement, incorporating innovative approaches and new technologies.
- Overall responsibility for controlling, core processes, and key figures, including correct and timely claims reserves, reporting, portfolio analysis, and management.
- Responsible for audit processes and their follow-up.
- Responsibility for delegating claims competencies to third parties.
- Supporting colleagues in Sales and Underwriting to generate business opportunities.
- Actively represent the German claims organization in the Claims Management Team.
- Collaborate with European and Country Management to ensure compliance with local, FSA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Initiate and lead organizational change to deliver tangible benefits regarding efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in innovative projects that prepare the claims department for future demands, ensuring robust change management.
- External representation of Chubb Germany regarding claims topics.
- Leading the development of the Claims proposition, supporting collateral, building professional relationships with agreed clients, brokers, and service providers.
- Leading the Claims culture, for the management of employees and teams, including performance management, talent planning (development and succession planning), diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Your profile:
- Completed studies in finance, business administration, law, or related to insurance.
- Several years of leadership experience (at least 10 years) in claims departments within an international company.
- Experience in defining and implementing processes as well as solid experience in managing change processes.
- Long-standing experience in the industrial insurance sector and complex claims processing in a challenging environment, both nationally and internationally.
- Excellent market knowledge and an outstanding network.
- Extensive experience in using workflow systems.
- High level of commitment and resilience.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills in leading culture and dealing with employees, subordinate managers.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience in dealing with international matrix structures and corresponding decision-making processes is advantageous.
