This Is a JOBtoberfest Announcement For a Permanent Reassignment To An Internal Position In The North Atlantic Division, Europe District, Engineering Division

Who May Apply: This position is only open to current, permanent USACE employees with time-in-grade eligibility at the GS-0810-12 level.

Anticipated Start Date: This assignment will begin on/about pay periods beginning in the 2nd Quarter of FY26.

Overseas Duty Location: Europe District Headquarters located in Wiesbaden or at McCully Barracks, Germany.

This is a non-supervisory position supporting the District's vital mission.

As a Civil Engineer, this position prepares the civil portions of in-house designs for assigned projects as well as major change orders of U.S. projects for overseas construction conducting design reviews and design development are complicated by the requirement to adhere to U.S. and foreign safety and fire codes, handicap codes, the use of US and foreign materials techniques, etc. As an experienced engineer, the incumbent

  • Specializes in terms of functional area, geographical area, and/or facility type, and must also consider Geotechnical and Environmental concerns in project design.
  • Conducting design reviews of the civil engineering features of high value projects designed by A-Es, Host Nation Agencies, and contractors for construction in Germany, other European countries, Africa, and Middle Eastern NATO or allied countries.
  • Executing special studies or investigations or may serve as an expert witness or subject matter specialist at meetings, special committees, or higher headquarters hearings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a SECRET security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

  • Overseas positions may have a tour limitation.
  • You may be required to complete and sign DD Form 2365.
