Your future contribution

We’re looking for a hands-on, impact-driven Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to guide and evolve our product and technology functions. This role is designed for a confident and proactive leader who thrives in dynamic environments, and is deeply comfortable with scaling technology in the travel industry. You have experience aligning product and engineering roadmaps with real-time customer and business needs while shaping cultural, operational and technological change to modernising platforms and services in parallel.

Your experience will be effectively balanced between B2B and B2C environments giving you a strong commitment to exceptional customer outcomes, when that customer is a partner, a business or a unique individual. You will be very adept at working in a matrix organisation where specific core resources operate in a team you do not lead, but you will still love to take responsibility for the outcome.

You will be confident navigating high transactional environments with time-sensitive user journeys, and have a proven track record of building scalable, sustainable systems in industries that are subject to seasonal or event driven volume volatility. You will play a critical role in maintaining a resilient and reliable platform that is functionally core and unique within the wider HomeToGo group.

Note on location : The role can be based in Berlin, Zurich, or remotely within Europe—but will require regular travel to Berlin and / or Zurich to collaborate closely with leadership and teams.

How you’ll add value

  1. Drive the end-to-end operational execution of product and technology delivery with a focus on speed, scale, and reliability.
  2. Partner with group, business line stakeholders, and functional leads to turn opportunities into outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster continuous improvement and shared success.
  4. Build out OKR-driven operational processes for ensuring growth and scalability of all the platforms and services you oversee.
  5. Your experience of best in class platforms (SAP, Salesforce, AWS, Jira, etc).
  6. Ensure delivery consistency across global teams, with clear accountability, priority, and strong focus on results that sits effectively in the context of a public company environment.
  7. Act as the connective tissue between commercial goals and technical execution.

You’ll be successful in this role if you

  • Proven Track Record of Fast-Delivery Execution - Demonstrable ability to deliver product and platform results at pace without compromising quality.
  • Deep Operational Experience in Tech-Enabled Product Companies - Hands-on leadership in technology transformation and acceleration in a group organizational structure. Travel tech an advantage but not required.
  • Commercial Acumen with HighTech Fluency - Comfortable and skilled translating between business and technical communities without ambiguity or misunderstanding.
  • Accountable and Outcome-Oriented - take responsibility for outcomes, learn from setbacks, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Collaborative Cross-Functional Leader & Communicator - Bring people together - product, engineering, design, and stakeholder teams - build trust across all functions through transparent communication.
  • Systemic Thinker Who Executes in Detail - Can zoom out to spot patterns and bottlenecks, and zoom in to fix the day-to-day technical operations.
  • Experienced in managing Complex, Time-Dependent Decisions - You have successfully managed and can demonstrate clear skillset for now / next / later while balancing priorities with confidence.
  • Bias for Results Mentality - Believe in “launched is better than perfect” and favor iterative learning over perfectionism.
  • Calm and Resilient Under Pressure - Knows how to respond to guide through uncertainty, manage incidents with clarity, and keep teams grounded in high-stakes moments.
