Role Overview:

We are now looking for a seasoned and strategic Chief Operations Officer (m/f/d) Cardiopulmonary. In this key leadership role, the future incumbent will oversee and steer all operational activities across our Cardiopulmonary manufacturing sites in Hechingen, Rastatt, and Antalya. As an integral member of the Cardiopulmonary management team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Cardiopulmonary, the COO will lead a diverse and experienced operations management team comprising site leaders, supply planning, purchasing, technical services, sustainability, and supply chain analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing Cardiopulmonary operations in three manufacturing locations (Hechingen, Rastatt and Antalya)
  • Active member of the Cardiopulmonary management team, reporting to the Vice President of Cardiopulmonary
  • Leading the operations management team, consisting of the respective site operation heads, supply planning, purchasing, technical services, sustainability and supply chain analytics
  • Driving the operations strategy as well as the continuous improvement and efficiency enhancement regarding materials, overhead and manufacturing processes
  • Leading initiatives and manage resources within the operations strategy (organizational development, investments in capacity and resilience, production transfers, quality and productivity improvements, sustainability and certifications)
  • Support and assign resources to product development projects
  • Monitor and improve KPIs (OTIF, inventory, productivity, backorders, supplier performance and COGS)

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in engineering (preferred), business or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record in leading operations, manufacturing or supply chain organizations within a multinational company
  • Extensive experience working in a quality-regulated environment, such as the medical device or pharmaceutical industry or a comparable highly regulated sector with stringent process and regulatory standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a matrix organization through strong leadership and management skills
  • Proven experience in successfully leading leaders and large teams
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to drive positive change
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to navigate a multi-functional and multi-cultural business environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally (on average 20-30% annually, with variations based on business needs)
  • Fluent in German and English, Turkish is a plus
