Role Overview

The Chief Medical Officer will serve as the strategic and operational leader for all clinical development and medical affairs activities. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CMO will be instrumental in shaping clinical programs, engaging with regulatory authorities, and guiding the company’s transition from early development to pivotal trials and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee clinical development strategies across the company’s therapeutic pipeline.
• Serve as the company’s medical and clinical spokesperson with key stakeholders including regulators, investors, and collaborators.
• Design and execute clinical trial protocols in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory and ethical standards.
• Build and manage a high-performing medical and clinical development team.
• Evaluate and support new indications, partnerships, and licensing opportunities.
• Provide strategic insight into medical trends and scientific advancements relevant to our mission.

Required Qualifications

• MD or MD / PhD with specialization in [e.g., oncology, neurology, rare diseases] preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in clinical development within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Demonstrated success leading early- and late-stage clinical trials (Phases I–III).
• Familiarity with EMA and ideally FDA regulatory processes.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills; fluency in English is required (German is a plus).
