Chief Financial Officer

About the Company:

We are a well-established, mid-sized manufacturing company headquartered in Cologne. Known for our high-quality products and commitment to innovation, we serve a broad range of customers across Germany and Europe. As we continue to grow and optimize our operations, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team.

Role Overview:

The CFO will be a strategic partner to the CEO and the executive team, leading all aspects of finance, controlling, accounting, and cash management. The role will be critical in driving operational efficiency, improving financial transparency, supporting investment decisions, and ensuring long-term financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the finance organization, including accounting, controlling, treasury, and IT functions
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (HGB, IFRS) and tax regulations
• Partner with operations and production teams to optimize cost structures, improve margins, and drive profitability
• Provide strategic financial input to support decision-making on investments, CAPEX, and growth initiatives
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, tax advisors, and investors
• Lead ERP optimization and digitalization projects within the finance function
• Monitor and manage working capital, financing, and liquidity to secure the company’s financial health
• Support M&A activities, due diligence, and integration as required

Qualifications:

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA / CFA is a plus
• 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial sector
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), IFRS, and local tax regulations
• Strong operational mindset with experience in cost accounting, production controlling, and working capital management
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and develop high-performing finance functions
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable operating in a mid-sized business environment
• Fluent in German and English
