Title: Chief Financial Officer

About the Company

We are a pioneering, fast-growing biopharmaceutical company focused on transforming the treatment landscape for chronic pain. Our mission is to deliver innovative, first-in-class therapies to improve the quality of life for millions of patients suffering from chronic pain worldwide. After years of dedicated research and development, we have successfully completed late-stage clinical trials for a novel treatment targeting chronic back pain, utilizing a completely new mechanism of action. We anticipate launching this product in the European market by the end of 2025 and are preparing for further expansion into the US market. To support our growth strategy, including additional clinical programs and our market entry in the US, we are preparing for an IPO on NASDAQ. To help lead this exciting next phase, we are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (f/m/d) who will take responsibility for our finance function and drive the IPO process.

Responsibilities

• Lead and further develop the finance function, including team structure, recruitment, and process optimization.
• Take ownership of all activities related to the preparation and execution of the planned NASDAQ IPO, including IFRS conversion.
• Manage key external relationships with financial institutions, law firms, and other strategic advisors.
• Build and lead the investor relations function, including engagement with potential investors and institutional investors.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, including the implementation of robust reporting structures and KPIs with a focus on R&D cost control.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Drive the digitalization and optimization of finance-related processes.
• Provide leadership and direction to teams across accounting, controlling, and FP&A.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in business, STEM, or other quantitative fields.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience in finance, ideally including time spent in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, and/or senior finance roles within high-growth, dynamic companies.
• In-depth expertise in finance, including corporate finance, reporting, and IFRS accounting.
• Previous involvement in IPO preparation and execution, ideally on a US exchange, is a strong advantage.
• Entrepreneurial, driven, and hands-on leadership style.
• Excellent analytical skills and a meticulous, results-oriented approach.
• Clear, structured communicator with fluency in both German and English.
