Position: Characterization Engineer (f / m / d) Power Devices

In this role, you will be responsible for executing characterization tasks and defining characterization plans to achieve comprehensive functional coverage in alignment with multiple departments. You will report directly to the Regional Characterization Lead Europe in Lampertheim.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and executing characterization and verification tasks on power semiconductors (e.g., SiC-Diodes, SiC-MOSFETs, Schottky-Diodes, IGBTs).
  2. Studying and understanding device specifications.
  3. Developing characterization and verification plans to ensure 100% functional coverage.
  4. Collaborating with design developers and product marketing to define test specifications.
  5. Reporting failures, proposing solutions, and monitoring resolution processes.
  6. Developing and operating characterization and verification setups.
  7. Leading design verification reviews.
  8. Analyzing measurement data and generating reports for datasheets and design documentation.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in power electronics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  2. Experience in defining characterization plans, creating test setups, automating parameter testing, and presenting detailed reviews.
  3. Proficiency with electrical measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, parameter analyzers, PXI systems.
  4. Basic knowledge of electrical measurement circuits, setup design, and PCB design.
  5. Strong scripting skills (Python, MS Office, Matlab, LabVIEW, C / C++ / C#).
  6. Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
