About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing company focused on transforming the residential sector towards climate neutrality through serial energy-efficient renovations. They are seeking a CFO to join their leadership team, responsible for overall financial management, including strategy, budgeting, reporting, and investor relations, to support sustainable growth. The position is based in Berlin, Germany.

What the job involves

1. Overall Financial Management: Overseeing controlling, accounting, investor relations, strategic finance, and legal matters.
2. Ensuring reliable and timely financial reporting, including forecasts, financial statements (HGB, IFRS), and cash flow management, with an emphasis on automation and efficiency.
3. Developing and implementing a scalable financial strategy, including liquidity planning, budget control, and KPI management.
4. Using data-driven insights to improve financial performance focusing on growth and profitability.
5. Managing equity and debt financing efforts, including financial modeling and investor relations.
6. Crafting and presenting an compelling equity story for fundraising and maintaining strategic investor relationships.
7. Preparing for potential IPO by setting up scalable financial standards.
8. Handling legal matters, contracts, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with external legal advisors.
9. Leading the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
10. Acting as a strategic partner to the executive team, shaping company strategy and operational excellence.
11. Implementing risk management and internal controls to ensure ongoing success.

Who we are looking for

• University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field with excellent academic record.
• Several years of experience in senior finance roles such as CFO, VP Finance, or Director of Finance, preferably in a growth-oriented, investor-backed environment.
• Proven success in managing major financial transactions like funding rounds, M&A, and large loans, ideally in private equity.
• Deep knowledge of controlling, accounting, budgeting, cash flow, and investor relations.
• Experience in project-based business is required.
• Ability to build scalable financial structures and implement digital automation tools.
• Confidence in dealing with investors, banks, auditors, and stakeholders, with leadership skills to foster trust and growth.
• Strong strategic mindset with excellent analytical skills and a hands-on approach.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
