Role Summary:

As a Product Safety Engineer (m/f/d) in the hazardous location (HAZLOC)/explosion protection team, you will work on various projects, providing high-quality certification services to meet client needs. You will interpret standards, follow processes, and provide technical guidance to clients and colleagues.

Ideal candidates will have experience with standards such as IEC 60079 series, IECEx Scheme, ATEX Directive, and preferably North American certification processes. CSA Group offers training in new protection concepts and supports your professional growth. You will collaborate with international clients, reviewing prototypes, samples, drawings, schematics, and reports to ensure compliance with IEC/EN and North American standards.

Applicants should be customer-focused with backgrounds in manufacturing, process, or compliance assessment. Strong communication, change management, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage multiple certification projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance, timely completion, and quality standards.
  2. Review test data, reports, and authorize Certification Marks. Prepare and sign Certification Reports and Certificates of Compliance.
  3. Understand report and certification process and accreditation requirements.
  4. Coordinate with customers during design to meet standard requirements.
  5. Identify applicable requirements, testing, and standards.
  6. Determine sample testing requirements.
  7. Prepare Test Lab Work Orders and testing documentation, including standards, test sample plans, and data collection methods.
  8. Guide Lab Technicians to ensure proper application of requirements.
  9. Conduct on-site assessments and testing at client premises, with potential travel domestically and internationally.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience
  • Experience with circuit analysis and IEC/EN 60079-11 is a plus
  • Experience in Product Certification, Compliance, and Manufacturing
