- Serve as the foremost authority on battery chemistry, theoretical analysis, and core technology pre-development within the team, and lead innovation efforts in this domain.
- Collaborate with the VP R&D Battery to spearhead the development and commissioning of our battery material and process pre-development lab set up.
- Take ownership of Holyvolt’s growing R&D blueprint, driving it forward by managing and optimizing laboratory activities at the unit cell level.
- Engage in rigorous theoretical analysis to inform and guide experimental work, ensuring all processes align with cutting-edge advancements in solid state battery technology.
- Manage external pre-development partners specializing in battery materials and production processes to ensure seamless collaboration and integration of new technologies.
- Formulate and execute patent strategies in collaboration with the VP R&D Battery and internal and external IP experts to strengthen the company's intellectual property portfolio.
- Acquire, document, and spread knowledge concerning battery materials, chemistry, and pre-development methodologies.
- Develop and validate new battery materials and processes, ensuring their scalability and reliability for future production.
- Oversee the selection and management of certification partners and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Your profile
- Strong Masters or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or related fields.
- 5+ years experience in developing several battery cell generations from scratch with actual hands-on experience across all process steps.
- 5+ years experience in scaling a battery cell to full production volume with proven low scrap rates and high uptime.
- Extensive knowledge of solid-state architectures and chemistries.
- Good command of the entire value chain and production process, with a strong focus on testing and feedback.
- Accustomed to modeling of slurry-formulas vs. cell KPI dependencies.
