CASTING CALL – LEAD ACTOR (THE ARTIST) Berlin, Germany | Shooting: 29–31 August 2025

Short Film | Duration: ~15 min approx

We are currently looking for a Berlin-based lead actor to portray THE ARTIST, the central role in the short film "THE ENTRANCE”, written and directed by Ann Tsintsadze, and produced by Ricky Roffey, Alma Almeida, and Uwe Kamitz.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
THE ENTRANCE is a highly stylised and subversive short film exploring themes of identity, artistic exploitation, and the commercialisation of suffering. Set entirely in a surreal, decaying 1960s-style bathroom, the story follows a masked artist who, in a desperate search for validation, turns a used tampon into a celebrated art piece. As praise rolls in, he spirals into madness, haunted by grotesque, ever-present shadow figures.

Think Lynchian absurdity meets feminist satire — a daring visual narrative rich in symbolism, irony, and dark humor.

ABOUT THE ROLE – THE ARTIST:
The Artist is a reclusive, obsessive figure — masked, eccentric, and emotionally volatile. He teeters between vulnerability and ego, constantly searching for meaning, love, and recognition. This is a physical and psychologically demanding role requiring expressive range, emotional nuance, and strong control of body language and breath.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Male-presenting performer (30s–40s)

Strong physical presence and performance range — expressive movement is key

Comfort with surreal, absurdist material

Theatre and/or film experience preferred

Berlin-based or able to work locally

Comfortable working within a queer-led, experimental creative team

Open to partial masking/costume elements throughout
