Role responsibilities

1. Lead and enhance capital planning and overall ICAAP governance, ensuring robust risk management and compliance with evolving regulations.
2. Drive and improve risk management and risk controlling of the N26 group, focusing on RWA calculation, risk appetite, risk policies, decision-making frameworks, limit setting and monitoring, and internal controls.
3. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as MaRisk, CRR, ICAAP guidelines, and EBA expectations.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Treasury, Risk) to align capital planning with business and risk strategies for sustainable growth.
5. Develop and improve risk reporting with insightful analyses supporting decision-making and capital adequacy discussions.
6. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators, on ICAAP and capital planning matters.

Qualifications for success

• Master's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in risk management, financial risk controlling, or capital planning within banking.
• Strong knowledge of ICAAP frameworks, stress testing, and regulatory requirements (e.g., MaRisk, CRR, EBA).
• Experience developing risk governance frameworks, especially in capital planning and risk appetite alignment.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
• Ownership mindset with a strategic outlook and ability to anticipate regulatory changes.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for financial risk management and proactive problem-solving.
• Willingness to learn and incorporate feedback continuously.
