About the Role

Virtual Call Center Agent

Job Description:

The Virtual Call Center Agent is responsible for answering calls from prospective and current VCA clients (pet owners), who are seeking to schedule or change appointments, check in for their existing appointments, or get answers to their general questions. Agents work from home, for 30-40 hours a week. The primary responsibility of the Agent is to provide a high-quality experience to callers by answering their questions and booking appointments at their preferred hospital. Strong communication skills are required. Animal health and/or medical knowledge are not necessary.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Field calls from prospective clients promptly and friendly
  • Encourage appointment scheduling and ensure client satisfaction using established call scripts
  • Schedule appointments efficiently while maintaining a high-quality experience
  • Transfer calls back to hospitals and send messages to hospitals as needed to meet callers' needs
  • Provide feedback to management on call management tools, protocols, scripts, and client reception to improve operations
  • Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls and use of SMS/Texts
  • Multi-task across different programs and tech platforms
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior veterinary experience and/or call center experience in a medical setting (preferred)
  • Patience and understanding when dealing with client questions
  • Ability to work remotely and effectively as part of a team
  • Strong phone communication skills
  • Basic typing skills
  • Comfort with working on a laptop
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Passion for pets and pet care
  • Availability to work 30-40 hours per week from home, including weekends, with a reliable internet connection
  • Commitment to providing excellent client experience and making clients feel valued

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and credentials. The US hourly range for this full-time role is $15.77-$23.65. Specific hourly rates depend on role, level, and location, and can be discussed during the hiring process.
