Jobbeschreibung

We - MT Aerospace - are part of the OHB Space and Technology Group. As a leading international aerospace company, we develop, manufacture and test essential components for launcher programs such as Ariane, the U.S. Space Launch System (SLS) as well as commercial launcher systems, the Airbus fleet, spacecrafts, satellites and defense applications. Thanks to globally unique manufacturing technologies, we create high-performance products made of metal and fiber composites, such as large load-bearing structures and cryotanks, lightweight structures and fuel as well as pressure tanks that combine maximum performance with minimum weight. Especially our business areas of additive manufacturing, CFRP and hydrogen mobility make us a sought-after partner outside the aerospace sector as well. We currently employ around 600 people at our headquarter in Augsburg and at the launch site in Kourou (French Guiana).

Space. Far away for most - soon very close for you. Become part of an industry of visionaries and pioneers and make a valuable contribution as a Calculation engineer for thermal/fluid analyses (m/f/d) to help the European launcher Ariane and other international launchers take off.

Your Tasks
  • Development and verification of aerospace components against thermodynamic and functional requirements
  • Conception and preliminary design of tank systems for cryogenic and storable fuels, as well as their optimisation with regard to primary characteristics (e.g. volume, wall thicknesses, insulation)
  • Detailed fluid mechanical and thermal design of subsystems / components (e.g. heat exchangers)
  • Fluid mechanical simulations of problems with free surfaces or fluid-structure couplings
  • Thermal and fluid mechanical simulation and design of drive systems (e.g. H2 drive train)
  • Analysis/simulation and evaluation of tank systems of different launcher stages with regard to characteristic performance data (structure and thermal budgets)
Your Qualifications
  • Graduate engineer (TU/FH) specialising in aerospace (or engineering/science degree with comparable task-specific qualification)
  • Sound knowledge in the fields of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
  • Knowledge of numerical analysis with finite difference methods, FEM and fluid network models (e.g. Ansys Fluent, Sinda/Fluint, FloCAD, Patran P-Thermal, Abaqus, Nastran)
  • Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Good written and spoken English
