The Role

Located on the ground floor of Fotografiska Berlin, our Cafe + Bar & Bakery invites you to immerse yourself in a world where art, music, and all-day dining converge for Members and Guests to experience. Our Cafe Team are ambassadors of service excellence, understanding the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of the Cafe & Bakery operations at Fotografiska. They represent service excellence by providing kind, knowledgeable, and humble hospitality, alongside warmth and grace in every interaction. Reporting to the Cafe & Bar Managers, the role entails all aspects of the Bakery and Cafe, Counter, Bar, and Floor service operations, representing Fotografiska with hospitality and generosity in every interaction.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as a Server, Bartender, or Barista in luxury hospitality, food, and beverage environments
• Deep knowledge of all Cafe + Bar & Bakery food and beverage menu items, ensuring consistent quality that meets high standards set by Fotografiska F&B leadership
• Thorough understanding of drink menus including coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beverages, wines, beers, and spirits, with the ability to articulate these to guests in an engaged and thoughtful manner
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and support other areas as needed to maintain operational integrity
• Solution-oriented with attention to detail, committed to building memorable experiences for members and guests
• Ability to foster an inclusive work environment, working collaboratively with a diverse team from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences
• Knowledge of craft and classic cocktails, with an understanding of old world and new world wines
• Participation in scheduled training to enhance product knowledge, growth, and professionalism
• Proficiency in POS systems for ordering and billing
• Cash handling skills and professional communication with management
• Timely and accurate execution of service with a focus on creating memorable experiences
• Daily, weekly, and monthly setup and breakdown of cafe requirements
• Ability to work under deadlines, be proactive, and find creative solutions to challenges
• Responsibility and initiative in resolving issues, with clear communication to members, guests, and leadership
• Multitasking skills across greetings, food and drink service, and operational tasks, ensuring seamless guest experiences
• Attention to bar maintenance, including opening, closing, and equipment upkeep
• Clear communication of orders and alert management when supplies are low
• Availability for shifts Monday through Sunday, including AM and PM shifts, with potential involvement in event operations as needed
• Compliance with all health, safety, employment policies, and service standards
