The Role

Located on the ground floor of Fotografiska Berlin, our Cafe + Bar & Bakery invites you to immerse yourself in a world where art, music, and all-day dining converge for all members and guests to experience.

Our Cafe Team are ambassadors of service excellence, understanding the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of the Cafe & Bakery operations at Fotografiska. They represent service excellence by providing kind, knowledgeable, and humble hospitality, alongside warmth and grace in every interaction. Reporting to the Cafe & Bar Managers, the role entails all aspects of the Bakery and Cafe, including counter, bar, and floor service operations, and represents Fotografiska with hospitality and generosity in every interaction.

Requirements

• 3+ years acting as a Server, Bartender, or Barista in luxury hospitality, food, and beverage environments.
• Provide members and guests with in-depth knowledge of all Cafe + Bar & Bakery food and beverage menu items, ensuring the quality of all items delivered meets the high standards set by Fotografiska's F&B leadership team.
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of all drink menus—coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beverages, wines, beers, spirits—and articulate this knowledge to guests in an engaged and thoughtful manner.
• Ability to work within an ever-changing environment and support other areas as required to maintain the integrity of Fotografiska's F&B operations.
• Solution-oriented with pride in attention to detail, building, delivering, and stewarding the moments that define the Cafe and Bakery experience for members and guests.
• Foster an excellent work environment by working alongside a diverse team from various backgrounds, promoting teamwork and mutual respect.
• Knowledge of craft and classic cocktails, with an understanding of old world and new world wines.
• Attend scheduled team trainings to ensure detailed product knowledge, growth, and professionalism.
• Proficient in the use of POS systems for ordering and billing.
• Handle cash and communicate professionally with management.
• Execute service orders in a timely and accurate manner to create memorable experiences.
• Set up and breakdown cafe requirements daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Work effectively under deadlines, be self-motivated, proactive, and find creative solutions to challenges.
• Take responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, maintaining clear communication with members, guests, and F&B leadership.
• Multitask effectively across greetings, food service, cocktail building, wine service, and operational tasks to provide seamless experiences.
• Maintain attention to detail in bar maintenance, including opening, closing, and equipment upkeep.
• Communicate clearly on orders, ensure timely delivery of drinks, and alert management when supplies are low.
• Availability required Monday through Sunday, including AM and PM shifts; may include event operations as needed.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations, employment policies, service procedures, and standards applicable to the front-of-house team.
