The job: CAD-Detail Engineer for shipbuilding equipment

Our client has extensive experience in the shipbuilding industry. They specialize in designing and producing maritime equipment such as steering, rudder, control, and maneuvering systems, winches, superyachts, and more. The company also provides spare parts, installation, repair, maintenance, and other services.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering development of shipbuilding components (rudders, steering gears, nozzles, etc.) in accordance with classification construction rules and customized shipbuilding structures.
  • Generating 3D- and 2D-CAD models, general and workshop drawings, structural calculations, FE analysis, and technical documentation.
  • Technical project management and coordination with internal and external project teams, manufacturing and supply partners, classification societies, and clients globally.
  • Managing and supporting the approval process of engineering designs with classification societies.
  • International correspondence and communication related to projects.
  • Supporting other departments with technical questions.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (C1/C2) and at least B2 German.
  • Graduated in mechanical or maritime engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc./Dipl.Ing.).
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally in the maritime sector.
  • Strong CAD skills in 2D and 3D (preferably SolidWorks and AutoCAD or similar) and experience with PDM systems.
  • Experience in maritime component layout and FE analysis is desirable.
  • Excellent technical understanding and experience with technical documentation.
