OPEN MIND in Germany seeks a C++ Software Architect (m/f/d) for tool path calculation. The role focuses on algorithm development and architectural expansion at our Wessling headquarter near Munich.

You will collaborate with mathematicians, physicists and engineers on CAD/CAM technologies, contributing to future modules and global projects. Fluent English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, computer science or a related technical/scientific field.
• Strong expertise in C++ and modern software architecture.
• Experience in technical software development, ideally CAD/CAM/CNC or industrial control systems.
• Interest in mathematical and software architecture challenges and differential geometry as applicable.

We are looking to expand our development team at our Headquarter in Wessling near Munich, with a focus on C++-based algorithm development and the further development of our software architecture.

• Development of Innovative Algorithms:
  Design, development, and optimization of mathematical algorithms in C++ for generating highly precise and efficient toolpaths
• Further Development of Our Software Architecture:
  Shared responsibility for the further development of our software architecture to improve scalability
• Interdisciplinary collaboration:
  Close and agile collaboration with your own team—comprising mathematicians, physicists, and mechanical engineers—as well as with related departments, particularly Product Management and Innovation
• Helping shape future technologies:
  Contributing your own ideas, experiences, and perspectives to proactively participate in the development of future hyperMILL® modules

Your profile

• Successful completion of a degree program:
  Degree in mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical or scientific field
• Technical expertise:
  Comprehensive expertise in development with C++ and an understanding of modern software architecture; experience with C to understand legacy code is a plus
• Experience in technical software development:
  Practical experience in developing technical software solutions, ideally in the field of CAD/CAM systems, CNC technologies, or industrial control systems
• Interest in mathematical and software architecture challenges:
  Enjoyment of solving mathematical problems—for example, in the fields of differential geometry or computer geometry—as well as further developing our software architecture
• Language skills:
  Very good English skills for communication within our international team; knowledge of German is a plus
