Overview
The new BD SM Hub Director will be accountable for developing and implementing the Specimen Management strategy, both in Acute and Laboratory segments, driving profitable growth of the BU in the C&EE region, leading business development activities consistently with the Specimen Management EMEA and C&EE Leadership Team direction.
In this role, you will be responsible for P&L management of the Hub, setting and achieving business and financial goals, building and developing the team.
As a member of the SM EMEA and C&EE Leadership Team and reporting to the VP Specimen Management EMEA, you will advise and collaborate in the strategic and financial planning for EMEA and C&EE: combined with strategic, operational and financial planning; budgeting and forecasting activities.
Main Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Performance
Develops and implements the Specimen Management strategy.
Drives profitable growth of the BU in the Hub and leads business development activities.
Maintains customer, market, and competitive knowledge. Understands key market trends, identifies, and articulates adjacent new opportunities and future risks.
Develops and implements the agreed Hub ASR (3 year Strategic, Operational and Financial planning) with specific country strategic, tactical and financial contributions.
Provide the framework to improve opportunities and upsides from performance and provide action plans to resolve downside performance.
Lead, supervise and drive the key sales, marketing and business development programs across each country ensuring standard process is shared and capability developed.
Business Operations and Financials
Optimizes Hub revenue growth and financial performance, improves income.
Defines and drives achievement of tactical and financial goals for countries.
Lead cross functional integration of all customers facing forces in the hub and countries, direct, shared resources and cross business (sales, marketing, medical, customer service, etc), drives alliances, efficiency gains and efficacy across the Hub.
Leads rapid adoption of and compliance with key business and management processes and tools i.e. CRM, ASR and Monthly reporting system. Recommends improvements.
Team Leadership
Articulates Hub business vision and strategic objective.
Forms a team with a strong winning spirit and a high morale and motivation.
Coaches and develops business and leadership proficiencies of his direct leadership team.
Ensures tight-knit partnership of the team with the rest of the BD organization.
Requirements
Experience and education required:
Proven track record in business management, ideally with a Master's degree, MBA, or Post-graduate Marketing qualification or equivalent, coming from the medical devices/life sciences industry, ideally selling capital equipment, bringing shown experience leading and developing teams for an extensive period, efficiently working in a large matrix organization
Skills required:
In order to succeed in this role, you need to demonstrate strong big-picture thinking; integrating and balancing long-term opportunities and challenges, with day-to-day activities, combined with fundamental strategic and tactical marketing knowledge.
Additionally, P&L management and financial measures (return on investment, NPV, etc) experience is needed, with a strong action, and result orientation, being proactive and able to grasp business opportunities to ensure growth

Strong mental agility, analytical and fact-based decision-making skills.
Change Agent with a proven track record of introducing new financing models to accelerate adoption of sophisticated solutions.
