About Marketing & Business Development (MBD)
MBD is a dynamic global team comprising business development specialists, research analysts, and marketing and communications experts. We shape the firm’s client strategy, analyze business issues, identify opportunities, develop proposals, and create marketing campaigns to enhance our digital presence. Our goal is to define the client experience and enhance Freshfields' reputation worldwide.
ROLE SUMMARY
This role requires excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships with senior internal stakeholders across the region and globally. The candidate should be experienced in working collaboratively with BD colleagues and specialists in branding, marketing, communications, events, and research.
The Business Development Manager should have experience in a law firm environment, preferably with knowledge of the German legal market. Experience in an M&A or related practice BD role is advantageous, or experience supporting multiple practice groups or as a specialist in areas like pitching, client targeting, campaigns, content creation, directory submissions, or key account management. The role involves leveraging existing expertise while also being eager to learn and expand skills across regions.
The manager will work closely with Germany- and Austria-based M&A and real estate partners to provide high-quality BD support and capitalize on regional opportunities with key clients.
