Job Summary

As a Senior Business Development Specialist, you play a critical role in creating new business opportunities for Telstra through delivering creative and market-defining sales solutions for your client portfolio. You are highly aware of current and emerging market trends and understand their implications for your clients’ businesses. Your ability to integrate Telstra’s products and services into tailored solutions that anticipate client needs contributes to Telstra’s growth and helps forge strong market relationships.

You are recognized in your region and work collaboratively with partners, agents, and external organizations as an ambassador for Telstra, aligning closely with our strategy through channel management and marketing.

Job Description

  • Actively identify, develop, and qualify new business opportunities with both new and existing customers. Leverage your strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with acquisition, account management, and inside sales teams to define and execute growth strategies for your portfolio.

  • Contribute to revenue growth by developing a robust sales pipeline, identifying new opportunities through market research and partnership deals, and negotiating complex commercial arrangements to close sales.

  • Engage authentically with diverse stakeholders, including executives (e.g., CIO, CTO), and internal teams (solution sales, opportunity owners, Account Executives). Understand customer needs deeply to identify solutions, anticipate future requirements, and foster strong relationships.

  • Gather insights from relevant sources to understand new business opportunities, keeping abreast of industry trends to preempt opportunities and potential risks, issues, and challenges to drive business growth for Telstra.

  • Lead or contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, such as market insights and cross-functional collaboration, that significantly impact portfolio revenue and team development.

  • Represent Telstra at industry and company-led events. Engage with partners, channels, and alliances to maximize the impact of our propositions.

  • Adhere to processes, guidelines, and our code of conduct at all touchpoints, embodying and promoting our values to uphold the integrity and reputation of Telstra.
