Business Development Manager DACH | Biotech & Pharma | Remote, m/w/d
ForAlphalyse, a world leader in protein analysis and contract research services, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive business development in the DACH region biotech and pharmaceutical markets.
About Alphalyse:
Alphalyse is a Danish contract research organization (CRO) specializing in Host Cell Protein (HCP) analysis using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry techniques. Their mission is to support biotech and pharma companies in developing safer and more effective biologics by providing unmatched analytical services.

The Role:
As part of the Business Development Team consisting of the CEO, Head of Business Development and two Client Relations Managers, you will be Alphalyse’s first dedicated representative in the DACH, building Alphalyse’s presence from the ground up. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term relationships and driving the adoption of Alphalyse’s services in biologic drug development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Business Development: Identify and secure new clients in the German, Austrian and Swiss biotech and pharma sectors.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients to establish Alphalyse as a key partner in their development processes.
- Market Expansion: Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate the DACH markets, addressing client challenges with tailored solutions.
- Representation: Represent Alphalyse at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, showcasing their expertise in protein analysis.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Alphalyse’s internal teams, including Business Development, technical experts and marketing, to deliver seamless client experiences.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you probably have:
- Industry Expertise: 5+ years of experience in sales or client relations within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sectors. A background in protein analysis, mass spectrometry, or biologics is a strong advantage.
- Scientific Knowledge: Maybe you have a degree in the life sciences field or have in another way obtained knowledge to effectively understand and communicate Alphalyse’s services.
- Proven Sales Success: A track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, particularly in B2B settings with long sales cycles.
- DACH Market Expertise: Familiarity with the DACH region biotech and pharmaceutical landscape, including its major players, trends, and regulatory environment.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Native-level English proficiency with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Client-Focused Mindset: Strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills, with the ability to align Alphalyse’s offerings with client needs.
- Technical Adaptability: Proficiency with CRM tools and data-driven sales strategies to monitor and optimise performance.
- Language: Native German + fluent/professional level English
- Location: We imagine you live in the mid or southern parts of Germany, or in the northern parts of Switzerland or Austria.
