Job Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Developer with strong experience in the ICT sector to lead strategic growth initiatives and drive client acquisition. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding our client base, and supporting the marketing team in positioning our ICT products and services in the local and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the field of trade and business facilitation while leveraging market potential through the promotion and expansion of existing products and services.
- Drive strategic marketing initiatives to generate high-quality leads and increase brand visibility.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with public and private sector organisations, including international clients.
- Prepare high-impact proposals, presentations, and responses to private and public RFPs and tenders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand product/service offerings and translate them into client solutions.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows.
- Lead negotiations and close commercial deals in line with company objectives.
- Track and report on business development KPIs and maintain an up-to-date pipeline using CRM tools.
- To support Management in any other business development related projects and duties.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of ICT.
- At least 3 years of experience in business development or strategic marketing roles preferably in the ICT sector.
- Proven track record in closing high-value ICT deals and building client networks
- Strong understanding of ICT market trends, digital technologies, and client needs. (e.g., digital government, enterprise systems, managed services)
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience with public sector procurement, ICT tenders, and grant funding is an advantage.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, data analytics, and digital marketing tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Willingness to travel regionally for business needs.
