Biomethane Expert (f/m/d)

Location: Berlin (Hybrid)

Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Biomethane Expert to support the growth and development of the biomethane market. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of market development, client engagement, and sustainability strategy. The successful candidate will act as a key internal advisor and external representative in a rapidly evolving sector. Ideal for professionals who are passionate about advancing clean energy and climate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an internal subject-matter expert on the biomethane market, providing strategic insights based on the latest regulatory and market developments.
  • Identify and engage with potential buyers and sellers of biomethane, strengthening the organization’s commercial reach.
  • Lead negotiations and structure agreements that deliver value to both clients and the business.
  • Manage the full commercial cycle—from first contact to closing deals—while meeting defined sales targets.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring high-quality service and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and events to build market presence and credibility.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales, trading, consulting, or a similar function within the renewable energy sector, with a proven ability to close deals.
  • Fluent or business-proficient in English; additional European languages such as German, French, Italian, or Spanish are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of biomethane products and markets, with the ability to advise both clients and internal stakeholders. Deep market knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a relationship-driven approach to business development.
  • Analytical and creative thinker with a client-centric mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-directed and results-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
