Bio-Techne is a globally active and leading biotechnology company with a long history. Since 2014, the various well-known brands such as R&D Systems, Tocris, Novus Biological, ACD, and Protein Simple have been brought together under the umbrella name Bio-Techne. In 1985, the first commercially available cytokine with TGFß1 was produced and sold. Our product portfolio includes reagents such as proteins, antibodies, ELISAs, MultiPlex Systems, probes for in-situ hybridization, as well as instruments such as the automatic ELISA system called ELLA, or automatic, quantitative Western Blot systems, and instruments for the characterization and detection of impurities or aggregates.

Position Summary :

Maurice, iCE3, and MFI systems are Bio-Techne’s innovative Biologics Research, Development, and Manufacturing QC systems. These are focused on BioPharmaceutical companies, as well as the Cell & Gene Therapy Sector.

This is a field-based sales position responsible for a territory comprising Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovenia. The ideal candidate will have capital equipment sales experience, experience in CE (capillary electrophoresis), a life science background, and reside in Germany.

The position is responsible for sales of Bio-Techne’s Biologics Instruments and consumables. Experience in sales to the Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotech companies would be a significant advantage. Responsibilities include planning regular travel to customer accounts within the territory, effective follow-up of sales leads, efficient management of the sales pipeline, and closing instrument system and consumable sales opportunities promptly. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with colleagues in other Bio-Techne sales teams, reporting on market conditions, and supporting marketing efforts at key exhibitions and conferences.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in capital equipment sales to the Life Sciences research sector, including sales of disruptive new technologies to pharma, biotech, and academic customers.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline; a research background with a higher degree (MSc or PhD) is advantageous.
Skills required / desired :
  • Experience selling instrumentation to Pharma, Biotech, or CDMO / CRO customers.
  • Strong business skills such as negotiation, organization, problem-solving, and fact-based decision-making. Experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech markets in this region is a plus.
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills. Energetic, enthusiastic, and driven with a hunter mentality.
  • Good technical laboratory skills for customer demonstrations.
  • A self-starter capable of working independently.
  • Proficient in English and German, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across all levels within the organization.
  • Customer relationship management skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and process orientation.
  • Proficient with computer applications, familiar with MS Office and SalesForce.com CRM is advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed and creative.
