Job Description for Bilingual Journalist at Euronews

Euronews is Europe's leading international news media organization, operating TV channels and digital platforms in 14 languages: Arabic, English, French, Polish, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Russian. Additionally, Euronews content is available in 7 more languages through its franchises: Serbian, Georgian, Albanian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Montenegrin, and Bosnian.

Job Summary

Within the Euronews language teams, the Bilingual Journalists cover targeted stories on diverse themes driven by the news. They possess significant online experience and are capable of working across TV and digital platforms, adhering to Euronews' editorial standards and producing high-quality packages. They are fully responsible for the accuracy and quality of the news delivered. They may also contribute to live coverage in their language or as experts on other services, whether TV or digital. They handle the complete production of articles and web content targeted for publication across all digital channels. During shifts, they report to the Editor of the Day of the respective language service – Head of Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and publish web content (video, text, photos, infographics, etc.) aligned with Euronews' positioning and values.
  • Monitor the impact of published content using audience data.
  • Share content with other language services.
  • Drive user engagement on social media.
  • Go on air live (audio and video) during live events.
  • Ensure localization of all Euronews content into their language, including translation, writing titles, selecting keywords and hashtags, and adding local information.
Your Profile
  • Higher education qualification: 4-5 years in journalism or equivalent.
  • Professional experience: At least 2 years as a multimedia journalist in a news media outlet.
  • Language skills: Excellent command and professional practice of the local language (C2 level), fluent English (minimum C1), knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Extensive general knowledge to cover diverse stories.
  • Proficient in writing news products with proper structure and tone.
  • Fast and precise writing skills.
  • On-air presence, especially during live coverage.
  • Strong digital culture and technological fluency.
  • Mastery of video editing, especially Adobe Premiere.
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of Euronews' objectives and operations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to unforeseen challenges.
  • Fairness, respect, and motivation in leading and managing teams.
