Position: Breeding Project Manager - Barley

Tasks

1. Develop breeding strategies and germplasm ideas to bring new barley varieties to market. Implement and manage breeding projects.
2. Understand business challenges through interactions with stakeholders, including competitors, government officials, and public institutes.
3. Lead local collaborations and propose exchanges with public and private partners, adhering to company standards and protocols.
4. Manage the breeding team dedicated to the project.
5. Prepare and monitor budgets and investments for barley breeding programs.

Requirements

1. Master's Degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics or a related field; PhD or experience in barley breeding is a plus.
2. Strong knowledge in breeding, quantitative genetics, agronomy, and modern crop improvement tools.
3. Proficiency in data analysis, management, presentation, and reporting software; good understanding of statistics and data management.
4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
5. Leadership experience in managing teams and projects.
6. Fluent in German and English.
