J.J. Darboven GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg-based, invites you to join our flagship specialty coffee store as a barista (m/f/d) on a full- or part-time basis.

You will craft beverages per SCA standards, advise guests on origins and roasting, and help create a welcoming home-like atmosphere. Responsibilities include handling tea, signature drinks, POS, and event participation.

Qualifikationen

• At least one year of experience in food & beverage is a plus.
• Proficiency operating our coffee equipment, especially portafilter machines.
• Passion for specialty coffee and willingness to continue developing skills.

As a Hamburg-based family business, J.J. Darboven has stood for exceptional coffee enjoyment since 1866. With the grand opening of our specialty coffee flagship store in Hamburg's Hafencity, we're combining this tradition with a modern concept featuring a specialty coffee bar, our own roastery, events, and seminars. Your Diverse Scope of Responsibilities

• Preparation of high-quality coffee beverages according to Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) standards
• Providing expert advice to our guests on specialty coffee, origins, roasting, and the best preparation methods
• Creating an atmosphere where our guests feel at home, with passion and personality
• Preparing other beverages such as tea, signature drinks, and select cocktails
• Taking orders and operating the point-of-sale system
• Maintaining, cleaning, and carefully handling our machines, equipment, and dining area
• Assisting with inventory receipt and warehouse organization
• Actively participating in events, cuppings, and seminars

Your Profile

• At least one year of experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus, ideally in a café or bar setting
• Proficiency in operating our coffee equipment - especially portafilter machines
• A passion for specialty coffee and a willingness to continue developing your skills in this area
• Calm and composed, even during busy peak hours
• An independent and reliable work ethic with a keen eye for detail
• A team-oriented mindset within a motivated team and a passion for creating special moments of enjoyment
• Flexibility for shift work as well as weekend and holiday shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM
