This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and production of advanced protective materials for a critical industry.

In this role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the creation and processing of hard ballistic components, primarily plates or "tiles" made from metal, advanced compounds, and ceramics. The technician will work hands-on with these materials, applying their technical expertise to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Working with various metallic materials and understanding their properties in ballistic applications.
  • Handling and processing composite materials used in conjunction with hard ballistic elements.
  • Mixing and handling ceramic materials and compounds, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment used in the production and testing of hard ballistic materials.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality control procedures and documentation standards.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other technical staff to optimize production processes and product performance.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of manufacturing techniques for hard ballistic solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A completed vocational training or technical education in a relevant field such as materials science, ceramics, metalworking, or a related discipline.
  • Practical experience working with metals, composites, and/or ceramics. Experience in industries where ceramics have a safety-critical aspect (e.g., aerospace, tactical vehicles) is highly advantageous.
  • A strong technical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • A meticulous approach to work with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills in the field of hard ballistics.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
