About the Role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who is passionate about building high-quality backend systems that solve real-world problems. In this role, you’ll help design and scale the core services that power our growing digital health platform, supporting individuals and families in their fertility and family-forming journeys. You’ll work in a collaborative, product-focused environment where clean architecture, performance, and reliability are critical. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful technology that has real human impact, while working with modern tools and a supportive cross-functional team.

Tasks

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain backend APIs and services using Python (Django), GraphQL and PostgreSQL
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Frontend to develop features end-to-end
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems
• Contribute to architectural decisions (data modeling, authentication, etc.)
• Write well-tested, production-grade code and participate in peer reviews
• Collaborate on DevOps topics using tools like GitHub Actions and Terraform

Requirements

What You’ll Need

• 3+ years of backend development experience in a product-focused environment
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Django
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with cloud infra (AWS), and CI/CD
• Bonus: Exposure to QA practices or AI dev tools, GraphQL
