Legalhero — современная платформа страхования правовой защиты и юридических услуг, с офисом в Берлине. Мы строим масштабируемые бэкэнд‑сервисы и интегрируем LLM‑функции в продукты.

Ваша роль — лидировать проекты на стыке разработки, архитектуры и продуктов, обеспечивая надёжность и высокий уровень производительности. Требуется 6+ лет опыта в бэкенде, владение Kotlin/Java, опыт работы с СУБД и облачными технологиями, а также знание английского; немецкий на уровне B1 в рамках 12 месяцев

Qualifications

• 6+ лет бэкенд-инженерии, в т.ч. 2+ года на уровне старшего
• Kotlin или Java — владение JVM-идеомами
• Реляционные базы данных (MySQL или аналоги) и хотя бы одно публичное облако в продакшене, AWS предпочтительно
• Мышление распределённых систем: идемпотентность, повторные попытки, eventual consistency, observability
• Деловой английский; немецкий на уровне B1 или взятый курс в течение 12 месяцев
• Будут плюсом: Micronaut, Kubernetes, AWS Bedrock, LiteLLM, Claude Agent SDK; опыт работы с регламентированными данными (GDPR, BaFin, 203 StGB)

Responsibilities

• Проектирование и владение масштабируемыми бэкэнд-сервисами от первого коммита до продакшна — API, модели данных, версионирование, SLO и инцидент-менеджмент
• Создание и эволюция высокопроизводительной, безопасной инфраструктуры, способной выдерживать реальную нагрузку
• Интеграция возможностей на базе LLM в продуктовые потоки: API рекомендации, RAG‑адресации, вызовы инструментов агентов — чтобы ИИ реально применялся в проде
• Тесная работа с фронтендом, продуктом и командами ИИ — ваши API станут их фундаментом, поэтому вы проектируете их надёжно
• Сделать сложные trade-off’ы: миграции схем, breaking changes, обновления зависимостей — с рассуждением, а не только по практикам
• Повышение качества через автоматизированное тестирование (unit, integration, end-to-end) и архитектурные улучшения, имеющие значение
• Ведение расследований инцидентов по своим сервисам, написание постмортема и участие в улучшениях

Legalhero is the modern platform for legal protection insurance and lawyers. We pursue the ambitious goal of revolutionizing the claims settlement process for legal protection insurance. To this end, we integrate directly into the insurers' systems. Our partner lawyers handle cases highly efficiently and in a customer-oriented manner on our tech platform with the help of AI. Legalhero was founded in 2017 and has helped hundreds of thousands of policyholders to date. Our approximately 90 colleagues are based in Berlin, near the Gleisdreieck.

• Design and own scalable backend services from first commit to production — APIs, data models, versioning, SLOs, and on-call included
• Build and evolve high-performance, secure infrastructure that handles real load — not just greenfield, but messy reality
• Wire LLM-powered capabilities reliably into product flows: suggestion APIs, RAG-backed endpoints, agent tool calls — you make AI actually land in production
• Work closely with frontend, product, and AI teams — your APIs are their foundation, so you design them to last
• Make the hard tradeoffs: schema migrations, breaking changes, dependency upgrades — with judgment, not just best practices
• Raise the quality bar through automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) and push for architectural improvements that matter
• Lead incident investigations on your own services, write the postmortem, and

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java — JVM idioms feel like home
• Relational databases (MySQL or similar) and at least one public cloud in production, AWS preferred
• Distributed systems thinking as a reflex: idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, observability
• Business fluent English; German at B1 or a clear commitment to get there within 12 months
