Jobtailor seeks an experienced backend data validation engineer to validate and optimize data pipelines across large-scale environments, including Databricks, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL. You will analyze CMS datasets, validate integrated data feeds, and ensure data alignment with frontend applications and UI dashboards.

The role requires strong querying, performance testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Prior experience with CMS programs and security testing is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of backend data validation and performance testing in large-scale data environments.
• Public Trust Clearance; U.S. citizen or eligible for clearance; foreign nationals considered.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL, plus CMS data context.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and TestRail; Agile/SAFe experience.

Jobbeschreibung

• Perform backend data and ETL validation across Databricks, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and similar big-data platforms
• Analyze and validate complex CMS datasets, including Shared Systems Claims, Final Action Indicator logic, Provider data, and Beneficiary data
• Validate data from CMS’s Integrated Data Repository and OnePI systems for Fraud Prevention System downstream workflows
• Compare backend databases and outputs with frontend/UI applications and Databricks Unity Catalog outputs
• Conduct query performance analysis and provide optimization recommendations
• Benchmark data processing times and throughput
• Perform load, stress, and volume testing of backend services and data pipelines
• Identify and elevate performance bottlenecks with platform and engineering teams
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, DBAs, Developers, DevOps engineers, and Agile teams
• Ensure compliance with CMS Testing Frameworks, SDLC processes, quality standards, and federal regulatory requirements
• Support functional UI validations to maintain end-to-end data alignment
• Develop, execute, and maintain backend test plans, performance testing strategies, and validation scenarios
• Create and execute API-based validation scenarios
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, PI Planning, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Retrospectives
• Support, mentor, and share subject-matter expertise with backend and functional test teams

Requirements

• All candidates must pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government
• Candidates must either be U.S. citizens or pass clearance through the Foreign National Government System
• Foreign National candidates must have lived within the United States for at least 3 of the previous 5 years
• Foreign National candidates must have a valid and non-expired passport from their country of birth
• Foreign National candidates must have appropriate VISA/work permit documentation
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in backend data validation and performance testing within large-scale data environments
• Experience with platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
• Experience conducting workload analysis, query optimization, and data pipeline performance evaluation
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Slack
• Experience working within Agile, SAFe, or similar software development methodologies
• Ability to create user stories, defect reports, test documentation, and acceptance criteria
• Experience translating business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories into backend test cases
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage assigned work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver quality results within established timelines
• Experience documenting test cases and results in TestRail
• Prior experience supporting Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) programs
• Experience with Tableau or Grafana
• Experience performing security or penetration testing using Burp Suite or similar tools such as Postman for API testing
• Section 508 accessibility testing using JAWS or similar tools
