In this position, you will be part of our Chapter Software Engineering. The chapter represents all experts who deliver essential software development and engineering capabilities to all our product teams. These experts are organized together to keep E.ON’s code base modern, secure, and excellent.
The products you will be working on belong to our team Digital Solutions | Future Energy Home. This team develops and operates software to manage home energy devices such as photovoltaic systems, inverters, batteries, EV charging wall boxes, heat pumps, and meters as a cloud-based solution for our central and local units, enabling the rollout of these solutions to end customers. We integrate with numerous vendors’ devices and apply centralized insights, analytics, and control mechanisms for these devices.
Meaningful & Challenging - Your Tasks
- Build Python data-intensive applications based on microservice architecture using DDD & CQRS approaches within AWS cloud.
- Implement ORMs for our energy data management backend system using libraries such as SQLAlchemy and Peewee, accessing databases like TimescaleDB and AWS RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) with Python.
- Leverage AWS API Gateway and AWS AppSync to build energy management data products for transactional and analytical operations.
- Support cross-functional domain data scientists to refactor their analytical apps into production-ready applications using software design patterns and principles such as Factory, Observer, clean code, and SOLID principles.
- Continuously integrate, package, and test code changes into GitLab repositories based on Gitflow branching strategy, with unit tests and BDD integration test scenarios.
- Contribute to the „Community of Practice“ to actively foster collaboration and exchange.
Authentic & Ambitious - Your Profile
- Several years of experience in building enterprise-grade Python data-intensive applications using software best practices such as DDD, CQRS, and TDD principles on AWS cloud.
- Several years of experience in SQL-based Python libraries such as SQLAlchemy and Peewee to access AWS RDS (MySQL & PostgreSQL) databases.
- Multiple years of experience in AWS services such as API Gateway, AWS AppSync, AWS IAM, AWS Cognito, Lambda, AWS PowerTools, and DynamoDB.
- Profound knowledge in building Python applications using Factory and Observer Design Patterns, Clean Code, SOLID principles, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to help others and contribute to the “Community of Practice”.
