Jobbeschreibung

The »« department develops technologies and application-oriented solutions for cutting along the entire process chain - from process design and pre-process simulation to real-time data acquisition during production, consulting, and prototype manufacturing. As part of your thesis, you will investigate how forces during the milling of thin-walled workpieces with barrel tools can be reliably predicted and compensated to ensure efficient CAM planning. This will include machining trials, data acquisition and analysis.

What you will do

  1. Conduct machining trials to determine relevant parameters for force modeling
  2. Simulate machining forces using an existing modelling framework
  3. Create an optimized CAM plan utilizing predicted forces

What you bring to the table

  1. You are studying mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics or a comparable subject area
  2. Basic knowledge of machining, force modeling, and technical mechanics is an advantage
  3. Ideally initial experience with CAM planning software (e.g. Rhino 3D or NX)
  4. Good language skills in German and / or English
