Job Description:

Our Image Processing department has been specializing in traditional and AI-based image processing for over 25 years. We develop industrial-grade inspection systems and solutions for recognition, classification, and characterization of images across various dimensions, wavelengths, and resolutions.

Background: In computer graphics, accurately modeling and controlling structural elements such as cracks, grains, and dot patterns is essential for creating realistic virtual environments. This project aims to enhance procedural generation by integrating Point Process Texture Basis Functions (PPTBF) with Open Shading Language (OSL).

What you will do:

  1. Integrate PPTBF with OSL: Implement the PPTBF algorithm in 3D environments, including point process, feature function, and window function.
  2. Optimize procedural algorithms to manage complex structural elements efficiently.
  3. Apply the approach to real-world scenarios such as inspection planning.
  4. Optional: Build a parameter-fitting database to accelerate PPTBF parameter fitting.

What you bring to the table:

  1. Ongoing studies in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or related fields at RPTU.
  2. Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
  3. Basic knowledge of computer graphics and procedural generation techniques.
  4. Familiarity with shading languages like OSL is a plus, but not required.
  5. Excellent command of English.
