Qualifikationen

  • 6 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Bereich Raumfahrt- oder Flugzeugavionik.
  • Erfahrung in der Leitung technischer Teams.
  • Fließend in Englisch, Deutschkenntnisse erwünscht.

The avionics architect (m/f/d) steers multiple subsystems in the spacecraft avionics domain, both technically and programmatically.Avionics architects (m/f/d) combine a strong technical background and good analytical skills with foresight to anticipate risks and the ability to lead an inter-disciplinary team.Avionics architects (m/f/d) are highly visible members of the project core team and provide a vital customer interface.

Your Tasks

  • Lead the design of the avionics architecture of the spacecraft
  • Define and develop the Avionics Architecture of the satellite, covering initial sizing, trade-offs, interface budgets and HW performances
  • Manage the avionics subsystems during detailed design and testing phases as design authority. Scope varies per mission and may include data handling, telemetry and telecommand, payload data downlink, laser communications terminal, security
  • Programmatic responsibility of the avionics subsystems, direct reporting to satellite project management
  • Interface management and control on physical level and across the protocol stack
  • Identification and management of development risks throughout the mission phases
  • Test planning and supervision
  • Non-conformance closure

Your Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or compatible qualification
  • 6 years of professional experience in space- or aircraft avionics domain
  • Experience with hardware projects in phase B/C/D in the field of avionics systems
  • 3 years of professional experience leading technical teams of at least 2 domains
  • Proven capability to deliver project results in time and budget
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work independently
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Fluency in German is desired. Language skills can be improved through company-facilitated trainings
