About the position

Perstorp are now seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our global team TDI, Technology, Development & Investments. We are responsible for execution of CAPEX projects at our global sites.

In this role you will be a part of our TDI hub, which manages the site Bruchhausen project portfolio, and provide expertise in the automation discipline across global projects and initiatives. You will play a key role in CAPEX investment projects & technical networks, as well as contributing to continuous improvements of our project management system and maintaining & developing internal competence within automation engineering.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing and updating technical guidelines, supporting process improvements, coordinating systems for technical documentation and design, and participating in technical sourcing with a focus on automation. This is a dynamic opportunity to influence and enhance automation practices on a global scale.

What will you do/Main Responsibilities

As the Automation Engineer you will:

  • Lead or act as resource for the automation discipline in technical projects and activities
  • Act as project manager for improvement & support activities or investment projects
  • Coordinate on site with construction activities in larger projects with multiple entrepreneurs
  • Review and assist with update of internal technical guidelines and standards within automation
  • Assist with coordination, update and mapping of current/future need of systems for technical documentation and design
  • Suggest improvements of relevant internal work processes
  • Participate in technical sourcing activities with responsibility for technical evaluation within automation

Who are we looking for?

To thrive in this role, we believe you have

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within a relevant engineering discipline, paired with at least five years of experience in the process industry—ideally within the chemical sector.

  • You have solid experience and strong expertise in one or more of the following areas: Electrical, Instrumentation, or DCS engineering.
  • You’re someone who brings structure and clarity to your work, with a talent for documenting technical activities and writing with precision.
  • A natural collaborator, you enjoy working across teams and functions, always with a process-oriented mindset.

Proficiency in both German and English is important, as is your ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively in a global environment.
