As Automation Manager DACH, you work as a central function of our Field Operations Support (FOS) team across our entire DACH region. You will be the expert for our automated systems – primarily AutoStore – and play a key role in analyzing system data, resolving issues, and driving process improvements.
You will partner closely with local warehouse teams and stakeholders, guiding them through automation-related challenges and ensuring the highest levels of system performance and availability.
Serve as the central point of contact for all automation-related processes across DACH
Provide support and guidance to local automation teams and supervisors
Manage AutoStore operations: system monitoring, performance optimization, and issue resolution
Analyze KPIs and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement
Coordinate with suppliers and external partners for maintenance and upgrades
Support roll-out of new automation technologies and features across sites
Ensure effective communication between warehouse operations and automation stakeholders
Deliver and oversee training on AutoStore systems and troubleshooting procedures
Contribute to cross-site projects aiming at standardization and efficiency
Maintain administrative control of automation systems via WMS interfaces
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with warehouse automation (ideally AutoStore)
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret system data and identify trends
Proven experience leading cross-functional technical projects
Effective communication and stakeholder management across all levels
Proficiency in WMS and relevant IT tools; networking experience is a plus
Background in automation technology, industrial engineering, or logistics IT
Experience in fast-paced environments such as e-commerce, grocery, JIT fulfillment
Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage
Willingness to travel within the DACH region as needed
Automation equipment uptime and technical availability
AutoStore bin presentation rate and performance metrics
Inbound/outbound efficiency related to automation
Time to resolve incidents and root cause identification
Local site feedback and implementation rate of improvements
