Job Description

Our electronics factory in Erlangen (GWE) is a multi-award-winning leader in lean manufacturing, sustainability, and digitalization within Motion Control (MC) and beyond. We are pioneers in automation and digitalization, and our factory has become a blueprint for the Industrial Metaverse. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on topics like the Industrial Metaverse, Plug & Play Connectivity, and Artificial Intelligence, impacting not only our factory but the entire Siemens group. Our integrated logistics center is a leader in lean manufacturing, digitalization, and disruptive technologies like lightweight robots and autonomous transport vehicles (AGVs).

Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop automation systems for GWE logistics, utilizing the latest market technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement sustainable improvements on fully automated storage and transport systems, robot cells, and AGVs.
  • Conduct Big Data analyses for complex processes to enhance efficiency, optimize workflows, and implement predictive maintenance.
  • Develop digital dashboards for process monitoring.
  • Apply AI, vision systems, and machine data in pilot projects to drive innovation.
  • Use digital twin simulations to evaluate and plan new systems.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to develop innovative and flexible automation concepts.
  • Lead digitalization and automation projects, assessing process maturity and economic viability, overseeing pilot implementations and rollouts.
  • Engage in internal, cross-site, and external networks to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a technical field.
  • Experience in logistics or production technology.
  • Several years of experience in digitalization, Big Data analysis, Tecnomatix simulation, and dashboard programming.
  • Experience with automated systems like lightweight robots, storage, and transport technology.
  • Interest in initiating and executing technology projects.
  • Knowledge of LEAN methods and culture is a plus.
  • Fluent in German and English; excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team-oriented and motivated to improve processes daily.
