Role: Automation Engineer
As Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert responsible for ensuring outstanding customer support, providing product feedback to our development teams, facilitating the delivery of turnkey solutions in Europe, overseeing the VXC in Berlin, and leading technical training sessions.
Your mission is to guarantee exceptional customer satisfaction and successful deployment of turnkey projects while meeting expectations and lead times.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Support: Provide comprehensive support throughout the sales cycle, including:
- Training: Conduct VAP, pre-sale, and post-sale training on technical onboarding, assembly, maintenance, and support during equipment commissioning.
- Logistics and Operations: Manage logistics, delivery issues, order processing, follow-up, returns, and Zendesk administration.
- Remote Support: Support VIP clients via remote subscription calls.
- Communication Management: Monitor calls and collaborate internally to improve customer experience.
- Process Optimization: Develop and maintain a roadmap for continuous improvement, providing feedback to relevant teams.
Integration: Lead deployment division efforts in EMEA by:- Project Management: Oversee delivery and commissioning of complex equipment, coordinating with stakeholders.
- Pre-Sale Support: Assist in testing and leveraging product expertise during pre-sales.
- Turnkey Projects: Manage project delivery and client communications.
- On-Site Deployment: Install, configure, and commission projects at client sites.
- Post-Commissioning Support: Ensure smooth transition into regular operations.
- Documentation: Develop and improve delivery process documentation.
- Workspace Optimization: Organize the Berlin VXC Demo Room and warehouse for productivity.
Technical Expertise: Become a subject matter expert on Vention’s products, including:- Automation System Design: Program and validate automation systems using Vention MachineMotion, MachineLogic, Python, and robot programming.
- Robotics: Support and validate applications for Fanuc, Doosan, Universal Robot, and EPSON platforms.
- Automation Programming: Expert in MachineLogic, Python, Ethernet IP, and Low-Level Socket API.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer, Electro-mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficiency in German and English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Strong computer skills, especially in programming (preferably Python).
- Linux terminal experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to clients.
- Passion for client interactions and mechanical design.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
